<div itemprop="description">Surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2014 at the age of 81. Being the strong-willed, disciplined, and courageous person that he was, Carm fought long and hard against the cancer that he had been living with the past 6 years. His perseverance through various ailments including heart disease and diabetes was an inspiration to us all. He leaves his loving and devoted wife Maria of 46 years, his children Adrian, Bernadette (David) and Claude (Sandra) to mourn his loss and cherish his memory. The joys of his life, his 5 grandchildren: Evan, Breanna, Liliana, Stefani, and Victoria, will forever feel the embrace of his love for them. Born in Paula, Malta on March 15, 1933, Carm, son of the late Vincenza and the late Gianni, one of 6 siblings: predeceased by George (Lilian), Guza (predeceased by Paul), Rev. Anthony, Tarcisio (Gemma), and predeceased by Sam (Sylvia), grew up through the grinding years of World War II. He worked for the British High Commission and the Central Bank of Malta. In 1977, he emigrated to Canada with his family. He worked as a Stationary Engineer for the City of Toronto demonstrating a strong work ethic and drive until his retirement. His philanthropic contributions to the less fortunate exemplified his altruistic nature. His deep and lasting faith in God was with him until his final breath. He will forever remain in our hearts. Visitation to be held on Friday, November 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas St. W. (one block east of Runnymede) 416-767-1176. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 9:15 a.m. from St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 3224 Dundas St. W. Interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mississauga. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.</div>
