<div itemprop="description">Anne Isobel Owens<br />September 26, 1923-November 21, 2014<br />After a long life Isobel passed away peacefully at 91, 11 months after her beloved husband Joe. Dear mother of Pat and Susan. Loving mother-in-law of Maurice and Stewart. Special Nana of Joanne (Dave), Sarah, Heidi (Eric) and Nerese (Joe).<br />Isobel was born in Liverpool, England. She along with thousands of other unrecognized women, contributed to the war effort during WWII. She worked in a factory, making parts for radar. She was also assigned to nightly fire watch duty.<br />Isobel and Joe married in January 1946, and in 1982 upon retirement, they came to Canada to join their families. Isobel loved Canada and her trailer in Midland and vacations in the U.S. We will all miss her but hope she&rsquo;s with Joe having a &ldquo;cuppa&rdquo; and a biscuit.<br />Our very special thanks to her private caregivers Cheriel, Rose and Lidia, who will be forever in our hearts. Thank you to the palliative care staff, 4th floor, Toronto Western Hospital, for all their kindness and loving care.<br />Should you wish to make a donation please consider becauseiamagirl.ca<br />Friends and family are welcome to the Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas St W (1 block east of Runnymede Rd) on Sunday, November 23 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at York Cemetery (160 Beecroft Rd., Toronto, Section B veteran&rsquo;s grave 2377).<br /></div>
